“Create in me a clean heart O God, and renew a right Spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10
During the July house church, we looked at how God cares about the nature of our hearts.
Gretsie Ames, our guest speaker taught us to look to God the Father as our shepherd. She explained how a Shepherd takes care of his sheep by anointing their head and ears with oil. The oil prevents insects from biting the sheep or getting into their ears and causing infection.
The Shepherd has compassion for his sheep just like our Father God has compassion for us.
We studied Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not be in need.”
We should be comforted because we are in good hands. God knows our needs and will supply them.
Psalm 23: 4; “Even though I walk through the darkest valley
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
God forgives our sin even though we do not deserve His forgiveness. It is by grace we are forgiven.
Let us remember and know that God is the good shepherd -and surrender our hearts to Him.
